Rajendra Aneja is the Managing Director of a Management Consulting Company providing services in Retailing, Business Strategy, Distribution Restructuring, Rural Marketing Feasibilities, Productivity, etc.
He worked with Unilever for 28 years in India, Latin America and Africa in a range of General Management, Marketing and Sales positions. He has worked on mass-markets in Brazil and later as Managing Director in Tanzania, Africa. He has dealt with a diverse range of products and assignments. He has been closely involved with Marketing and Sales strategy, Rural Marketing, Customer-Service and Distribution restructuring projects in Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Sri Lanka and many other countries.
Rajendra Aneja has worked in the Middle East, as the CEO of a Retail group and of a Foods Company. He has worked on management assignments in India, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Tanzania, Cote d’Ivoire, Senegal, Kenya, Egypt, Yemen, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Oman, etc., among other countries.
He was a Sir Dorabji Tata Scholar throughout his graduation from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics and the Master’s Degree in Management Studies from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute. He was also a Government of India Merit Scholar and received the Rotary Club Award for being the Best Student of the College. Subsequently he studied at the Harvard Business School and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
He has been frequently quoted by prestigious newspapers and magazines like the Financial Times (London), Fortune International (USA), Far Eastern Economic Review (Hong Kong), Asia Inc. (Hong Kong), The McKinsey Quarterly (London), etc. The Economic Times wrote that he “is the brains behind the rural thrust of Hindustan Lever”. The Asia Inc. (Hong Kong) commented that he “has achieved international recognition for his work in tapping Indian rural markets.”
He has managed full semester courses on Marketing at the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies and the Sydenham College Management Institute, University of Mumbai.
He was also invited to speak by Kellogg School of Management, Chicago, USA, Tata Management Centre, the Glaxo Global CEOs’ and Directors’ Forum in London and Vietnam.
